Alpine Internet Solutions
Webmail Service
Alpine Internet Solutions utilizes SquirrelMail for it's web interface. This is a very popular webmail interface with easy operability and key functionality. Most people have used some type of webmail interface in the past and this product doesn't deviate much from other popular interfaces.
To login to the Alpine Webmail, simply go to the following address:
<domain> will be your domain. If your domain is alpineinternet.com, you will go to http://webmail.alpineinternet.com. This will bring you to the login screen.
For the username, simply put your e-mail name followed by your domain. If your email address is jodonnell@alpineinternet.com, this is also your exact username for the system. You have to have the <username>@<domain> format, otherwise you will be unable to login and user this system for your mail. The password is whatever your normal mail password is for your username in your mail client.
After logging in, you will be able to view your current mail sitting on the mail server. Below is an FAQ section.
How do I view my mail?
When you login, the default page will be your e-mail in your inbox starting with the most recent mail and list back from there. In order to get back to this page, simply click on the "inbox" menu item in the upper-left hand of the page.
How do I send new mail?
Click on the "Compose" menu item going across the top of the page. This will bring you to a web page where you will enter all of the information for this e-mail:
The top fields of "To:," "CC:," and "BCC:" are the different addresses you want to send this e-mail. The "Subject:" line is the exact same as regular e-mail. Priority and Receipts are normal as you would expect in an e-mail client. The large text box is where all of your message will go. You can also attach files to the e-mail with the "Attach:": section at the bottom. To attach a file, simply hit the browse button and find the file on your drive or local area network. Once you are satisfied with the e-mail, simply hit the "Send" button and the e-mail goes out for delivery.
Can I add e-mail addresses to my SquirrelMail account?
Yes, you can easily add as many addresses as you want. To do this, select the "Address" menu item along the top of the page. This will bring you to a page which lists all of your addresses and a blank template to add a new one:
To add a new entry, fill in the all the fields you want populate and select the "Add Address" button. To delete an address, select the open box to the left of the nickname you want to delete and hit "Delete Selected." If you want to edit that address, hit the "Edit Selected" instead of "Delete Selected."
Can I search through all the mail in my inbox from SquirrelMail?
Yes, you can search through all of the mail you have in your inbox. Select the "Search" menu item at the top of the page. You will want to select which folder you want to search, what you are looking from and which field of an e-mail you want to search.
Why don't I have any mail in my SquirrelMail inbox?
SquirrelMail is a view into your inbox on the mail server. If you have downloaded all your new e-mail into your current mail client (outlook, thunderbird, entourage or eudora for example) and not specified to "Leave a copy of the message on server" you most likely won't have any messages sitting in your inbox. If you want to keep a copy of the message up on the server, you will need to make that specific request through your mail client. By default, most mail clients do not keep a copy of mail messages on the server. A caution to keeping all your mail online, you have a limited server space per domain with Alpine Internet Solutions. By default that limit is 100MB worth of storage. If you would like to increase that level, please contact Alpine Internet Solutions support by e-mail at:
Can I change how many messages I see at one time?
Yes, you will need to make this change in the "Options" menu item at the top of the page. After clicking here, go to "Display Options" and there is an option called "Number of messages to Index" underneath a subheading of "Mailbox Display Options." Simply change this number to something higher or lower depending upon what you want.
