Adding a new Ad Banner
From the management console, click on the "Add Ons" followed by the "New "Banner" button on the left.
Click on "Browse" and search your hard-drive for the image you want. A word of caution at this point. Most of the design templates have a specific size or specific limitations on the image you are uploading.
The next area is select the folder you want the banner to show up on. Simply select he folder in the drop-down menu. If you want the banner to show up in multiple folders, you will need to create another banner and reupload the same image picking a different folder.
Once uploaded, it will bring you to a new screen that will have further information for you to fill in.
Description:
This is what text is going to show up on the web page underneath the image of the banner.
Web Address:
This is the address someone will go to when they click on the image. For outside links, put in the full URL such as:
If the link is internal to the site, you can use the relative path:
/About_Us/
Suggested Alt Text:
Alt text is background meta-tags for the image itself. Something concise and precise is usually a good way to go for this for search engines. To learn more about alt text and what it can do for your search engine strategy, go to http://www.seologic.com/faq/alt-tags.php.
Weight:
The weight is the metric with which how often the banner will be seen over other weighted banners. The lower number has the higher priority. The way the metric works is that if you have Banner A with a weight of 10 and Banner B with a weight of 30, if you look at that page 12 times, you should see Banner A 9 times and Banner B 3 times.
View Count:
The view count is how many times this banner has been loaded in that folder. You can reset this number. This number does not represent the number of times the banner has been clicked on.
Active:
This is basically turning the banner on and off. If you want it to show up on the pages within the specified folders, just make Active=True.
